Reflecting on the CSW70 requires moving beyond the formal appreciation of being in the room to a rigorous audit of the power dynamics within it. As a youth-led movement dedicated to decolonizing narratives and spaces, we recognize that our presence at UN Headquarters is a responsibility to the Global Majority. Despite the growing formal recognition of youth, our delegation observed a persistent “structural ceiling” where global commitments often lack the financing and enforcement necessary to reach those leading on the ground. From the weaponization of legal systems to the gaps in digital justice, our post-event reflection identifies four critical pillars where the international community must shift from symbolic consultation to institutional accountability.

On January 23, our team participated in the "UN Youth Compass - Making Meaningful Youth Engagement the Norm" event. While we value these global spaces for youth participation, we urge a shift from rhetoric to the practical transformation of power, toward actual youth leadership in Peace and Security.
