Kicking Off Our CoP!
Following our onboarding session on December 5, 2025, where we introduced Youth Transforming Narratives and the mission and vision of our movements, aligned on guidelines, collective goals and the format of this groundbreaking initiative, we are thrilled to have officially launched the Youth & Decoloniality Community of Practice.
On January 17, 2026, our former YPS Team Lead, Isabela Queireza, and our Founder and Executive Director, Balkis Chaabane, led an opening call that set a powerful tone for the journey ahead. It was a space of deep connection, as members engaged in honest, vital dialogue about the lived realities of decoloniality within their specific communities, research, and activism. These conversations served as a profound reminder that decoloniality is far more than a theoretical framework; it is a continuous practice rooted in reflection, solidarity, and collective action.
As we move forward, our Community of Practice remains committed to bringing together young leaders from across the globe to exchange knowledge and co-create pathways for genuine youth inclusion. By centering these perspectives in peace and security processes, we are ensuring that young people sit at the table and define the narratives and solutions for our shared future.
As the first Community of Practice dedicated to this critical intersection, YTN is proud to steward this space with integrity and care. In a world that often overlooks these voices, we believe these are exactly the conversations that are most urgently needed.
